MAKEUP ARTIST: Charlotte Millerchip

A friend of mine from BA Model Making has recently started the makeup course part time at AUCB, and after having a look at her portfolio, I decided she would be perfect to recreate the costume makeup I would like for the models on my shoot. Here are some photos of her work:

PHOTOGRAPHER: Joe Stephens

I have found a photographer for the photoshoot. His name is Joe, and he has a really high profile on the photography scene in Bournemouth. He normally takes photographs of what he calls 'real people' in and around Bournemouth, particularly on the alternative clubbing scene. His photos have a documentary element to them, he is all about capturing the action, which I believe would be interesting for my photos. Here are some images of his work:

MY MODELS!

I am going to use 2 models for the event, Jacqueline Boulton and Josi Slater. They are both with LMP modelling agency in Bournemouth, and are both very tall and glamorous, which is perfect for the look that I wish to have for the photoos (tall glamorous model like figures, who look like they have had a struggle).

A little bit more photoshop experimentation

For this image, I used a photo from the outcome of the last unit, and scanned in a sheet of crumpled brown paper. I then altered the hue/saturation and opacity of the image, merged the two images together, and altered the opacity of the scan. The end result is really effective, and it might be really interesting to edit some photos from the photo shoot using this technique.

Experiementing with web page layouts - Gallery section

The idea of the above two pages, is that the opening screen of the gallery section is made up of black thumnails, with the rollover function, so that when the user rolls over each thumbnail, it appears in full colour.

This page follows on from the above two... when the user clicks on a thumbnail, the page of thumbnails shifts to one side, and a full size image follows it.

This is another idea, following on from the thumbnails screen. When you click on a thumbnail, this new screen appears, which is almost in an online magazine format, and allows you to scroll through the images using the arrow icons on the screen.

Website Research

These are the 3 most inspirational websites I found on the Flash Web awards website.

The one on the left is the opening screen from Lasse Pederson's

(an editorial stylist) website. I really like the simplicity of it,

being a simple full screen photograph, and rollover text.

The image on the left is from photographer Tony D'Orio's

website. It consists of a full screen of thumbnails, which have the

rollover function, and when you click on one, the larger version

slides in from one

of the sides.

The image below is from the We're All Fans: Grammy Awards website. The nominees each have a page, which consists of a collage of a photo of them, made up from

videos, photographs and tweets.

Sourcing: H&M Jacket

I was in H&M on friday, and saw this jacket, which I thought would be perfect for the styling of my shoot. It costs £19.99, and the stripes sum up the big top feel I wish to portray.
